PROJECT DETAILS
This 8-month long Oklahoma Pipeline project stretched over 200 miles from Cashion to Durant. Dykon was responsible for the blasting of 80 miles worth of mainline and 40 miles worth of laterals in Central and Southwest Oklahoma in a gambit of different materials from sandstone to deteriorated granite. Nearly 26 miles of rock was blasted, with 84 bore pits, over the span of the project. Over 2,000 line crossings were completed with nearly 50 parallels resulting in 3 to 4 gas company’s approval and presence for each individual blast. Blast designs for seismic, strain, and disruption were completed with 5 to 10 vibration monitoring points per blast to ensure the lines were safe. The project required a well-coordinated effort by 76 Oklahoma gas company line reps and engineers 7 days a week to make the job possible and it was completed with overwhelming success. Dykon truly embodied understanding the client’s needs for construction and met that by keeping ahead of a 10,000 feet a day right of way crew.
