PROJECT DETAILS
Located near Brooksmith, Texas, the 2700 acre Radian Solar Project was constructed by Signal Energy, LLC in 2021-2022. This solar energy facility is capable of generating 415 megawatts of electricity. This project required over 111,000 eight inch holes in various depths from 10 to 16 feet deep. The production schedule required the predrilling completion in seven months. The drilling for the entire project was completed safely and ahead of schedule.
During construction, rock was encountered within the collection line excavation which could not be trenched. Dykon was there to drill and blast the rock for the collection lines concurrently with the predrilling and with no delays to the production schedule.
Because of supply chain issues, we were forced to innovate and manufacture our own drill tooling to meet the production schedule. This resulted in the engineering and development of higher production drill bits capable of drilling laser straight holes at a significantly increased rate over commercially sourced drill bits. Engineering of these innovative drill tools give us the edge over our competitors in that we are faster, our holes are more accurate and we are much less dependent upon supply chains to meet the necessary production schedules.
