PROJECT DETAILS
When the State of Minnesota wanted to do some road improvements, Dykon was called in by KGM Contractors to perform the controlled blasting. On Highway 61 in Lutsen, MN, Dykon drilled and blasted over 84,751 cubic yards of mass rock. These blasts were matted as they were in close proximity to Highway 61 and various homes. In fact, Dykon was blasting as close as 65’ from a home on a regular basis. Depths ranged from 9’ to 21’ and every shot was specifically designed to accommodate KGM and the State of Minnesota Highway Department.
