PROJECT DETAILS
Dykon blasted 103,784 ft of rock and 232,257 cubic yards of mass rock on these 120 miles of 42-inch pipeline. The blasting crews spent the winter in the Appalachian Mountains battling weather and steep terrain, often requiring drills to be tied off to winch dozers. Strict environmental regulations made planning and organization essential to meet time and production goals. Three separate spreads worked concurrently and were safely and successfully completed on time. Dykon also blasted close to roadways and operating business at multiple points during the project. Dykon received high marks from the contractor for balancing production and safety for such a long period of time.
