Weeping Water, NE | 2015

With a conveyer belt only 35’ away from the blast, we successfully shot 2,939 cubic yards of mass rock.

Dykon Blasting

PROJECT DETAILS

Dykon did the original blasting on the inception of the Weeping Water Quarry in Nebraska.  Ten years later, we got called back to drill and shoot and mine portal entrance for another portion of the underground limestone mine.  The challenges?  Blasting 35 ft away from the existing conveyer belt on a rock bench that was 40 ft high, and in a short window in between shift changes at the mine.  The project also called for precision line drilling the perimeter of the new face in order to create a smooth final wall for the new underground entrance. Dykon safely shot the entrance without any delays or causing any harm to the conveyer belt!
