PROJECT DETAILS

In Hot Springs, Arkansas, Yates Construction Company is building an Armed Forces Reserve Center for the U.S Army Corps of Engineers.  This project is on Albert Pike Blvd just off of the 270 Bypass.

Wilson Brothers Construction Company was selected to do the site work excavation for this project and they chose Dykon Blasting to perform the drilling and blasting of the rock that had to be removed in order to prepare the site for construction of the Armed Forces Facility.

This project is nestled in a commercial area with residences on the east side of the site.  One residence was within 100 feet of a 30′ solid rock cut.  On the other side of the project was Greeson Motor Sports.  The north side of the project was bordered by Albert Pike Blvd which is a major thoroughfare for Hot Springs, Arkansas.

There were many crafts working simultaneously with the excavation of the project.  Plumbers, steel erectors, electricians, trucking companies and other contractors were working all around us.  The coordination of shooting was a difficult process made even more challenging by trying to schedule traffic control with the local police department.

Thanks to the joint efforts of Yates Construction Company, Wilson Brothers, Construction Company, The Hot Springs Police Department and all the rest of the onsite contractors, we were able to perform the drilling and blasting of this sensitive project safely, successfully and on schedule.

We at Dykon Blasting appreciate the challenge and the opportunity to work with everyone involved and we would like to thank them all for their support and cooperation.  We look forward to working with them all again in the future.
